Mission & Vision

Welcome to Planned Giving

Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature and our mission while accommodating your own personal, financial, estate-planning, and philanthropic goals. With smart planning, you may increase the size of your estate and/or reduce the tax burden on your heirs. Just as important, you will know that you have made a meaningful contribution to The Bishop.

We recommend that you familiarize yourself with various gift options by exploring How to Give and What to Give. Then compare gift options and/or calculate how these gifts could work for you. And of course, please contact us for assistance or to discuss your personal situation and objectives.

W.D. Sugg Legacy Society

At The Bishop, we believe that making a planned gift is one of the biggest honors a donor can bestow. If you have included the Museum in your estate plan, we would like to recognize your generosity and forethought by inviting you to join the W.D. Sugg Legacy Society. The Society is named in honor of Museum founder Dr. W.D. Sugg, a local surgeon and civic leader who led the charge to establish the Museum as a place that would offer “something for everyone” and educate visitors about the natural and cultural history of Florida’s Gulf Coast. Through various types of bequests to The Bishop, you may secure an estate-tax charitable deduction for the value of the gift.
